Description
When Seymour Duncan handed engineering chief Kevin Beller a blank check and told him to forget cost or convention, the Zephyr Silver Tele Rhythm is what came out the other side. It’s the first Telecaster neck pickup wound with silver wire instead of copper, and the difference isn’t subtle. Silver carries signal with less resistance than copper per unit length, so instead of artificially hyping your highs and lows, it simply lets more of what’s actually happening in your strings come through untouched.
For a Tele neck pickup, that translates into a rhythm tone with real air on top and a surprising amount of complexity underneath. Chords ring out with more separation between notes, single-note runs stay articulate even as you dig in, and the overall voice feels more three-dimensional than a standard neck unit. Because silver is softer than copper to wind with, the coil form comes out unusually even and consistent, which shows up as extra touch sensitivity whether you’re working a pick or your fingers.
Alnico 5 magnets keep the pickup anchored in familiar Telecaster territory rather than chasing something unrecognizable, while cryogenic treatment of the components is used to coax out additional detail and clarity from the finished pickup. It’s finished with a classic cloth push-back cable for an easy, old-school install.

If you’ve felt like every other Tele neck pickup asks you to choose between warmth and clarity, the Zephyr Silver is built to hand you both.
