The SF-Series is Tom Anderson’s answer to the eternal single-coil dilemma: how do you kill the 60-cycle hum without killing the tone that makes vintage-style coils so addictive? The SF-2R is proof it’s possible. Wound reverse (RWRH) for hum-cancellation in the middle position, it still delivers the airy, chiming character players chase from real vintage-style single coils—except with more sparkle and a touch more sustain in the top end.
Where the SF-2R breaks from strictly vintage territory is output: it’s voiced hotter, giving you a fuller midrange push and a bit more grit when you dig in, without turning muddy or losing that glassy high-end shimmer. Bell-like clarity, soft attack, and a lush, almost effervescent quality up top are the hallmarks of the whole SF line, and the 2R leans into that while adding just enough push to feel more aggressive under a pick.
Drop it into the middle position of an S-style pickguard alongside its siblings for silent, noiseless combinations, or use it on its own where you want vintage-flavored sparkle with extra output on tap.
