Seymour Duncan’s Antiquity series exists for players who want more than vintage tone u2014 they want the whole package, worn edges and all. Each pickup in this set is built to Seth Lover’s original PAF blueprint, then aged by hand so the nickel-silver cover and pole pieces look like they’ve survived forty years of gigs. No two are identical: like the vintage units they emulate, each carries its own DC resistance and personality straight off the winder.
Crucially, these aren’t wax potted. Skipping that step keeps the open, slightly microphonic character that made the originals so revered u2014 airy highs, a woody midrange, and that touch of harmonic complexity modern pickups often iron out. Every pickup is built by hand in Seymour Duncan’s dedicated “Antiquity” room and signed on the magnet and bottom plate, so you know it’s a genuine one-off.
The set ships with front-tapered mounting rings and matching screws for both neck and bridge positions, and this particular listing bundles in a free set of Ernie Ball strings.
