Description
Seymour Duncan didn’t just chase the spec sheet of a late-’50s P90 — they tore one apart and copied it. The Antiquity Dogear set uses the same hand-fabricated bobbins, the same wire, even the same “flatback” tape from those old gold tops and ES-330s. Pull the black thermoformed cover off and it looks like you dug it out of a 1959 case, not a 2020s parts bin.
Each pickup runs a pair of Dun-Aged Alnico II magnets seated on a precision metal spacer, feeding the field to the strings through six fillister pole pieces. That combination is what gives P90s their signature growl — fatter and grittier than a single-coil, looser and more open than a humbucker. The neck and bridge are individually calibrated (bridge reads roughly 8.5k DC ohms / 7.41 henries, neck around 7.9k / 6.85 henries), so the balance between positions stays even instead of one overpowering the other.
Both units mount directly in the cavity — no external height adjustment hardware — and carry the aged black dogear covers for that lived-in look straight out of the box.
