Description
Pop the black dogear covers off these and you won’t find anything modern hiding underneath—just the same hand-wound bobbins, wire, and flatback tape that Seymour Duncan pulled from vintage single-coils decades ago. The Antiquity P90 set is built to sound like it’s already lived a full life inside a ’52 goldtop or a ’59 ES-330, minus the actual wear and tear on your guitar.
Each pickup uses a pair of specially calibrated Dun-Aged Alnico II magnets mounted to a precision metal spacer, which routes the magnetic field up through six fillister head pole pieces and into the strings. That’s the classic P90 formula: fat, woody low end, a growling midrange, and top end that stays musical instead of harsh. The dogear covers are thermoformed and aged to match, so the set looks the part as much as it sounds it.
The neck pickup winds top-going with north polarity, while the bridge winds top-coming with south polarity—correct hum-cancelling orientation for the pair when combined. Bridge specs land at 7.9K DC ohms, 6.85 henries inductance, and a Q of 2.84, using a 2-bar magnet pattern. Both pickups are surface-mount, height-adjusted from within the pickup cavity rather than via external screws.
