These come from Bartolini’s Classic Bass (CB) lineup, voiced with an extended frequency range that pulls more top-end detail out of your strings while keeping the deep low and low-mid character that made you want a Thunderbird in the first place. Instead of a muddy, one-note low end, you get separation and definition, so individual notes stay articulate even when you’re digging in.
Inside, each pickup uses CNC-machined blade magnets rather than individual polepieces, which means even coverage across the string spacing – these are built wide enough to handle string widths from 50mm to 59mm on medium spacing, so they track evenly whether you’re fingerstyle or using a pick. The coils are epoxy-potted, locking everything down mechanically to kill microphonic squeal and unwanted noise, and the humbucking design cancels hum for a genuinely quiet signal at higher gain.
