Description
This set pairs two of DiMarzio’s most versatile humbuckers for players who want clarity without sacrificing muscle. In the neck slot sits the PAF Pro (DP151BK), an Alnico 5 pickup built to cut through dense rack setups and high-gain rigs while keeping that open, vintage-PAF character intact. Expect snappy low end, a subtle mid-range “vowel” push reminiscent of a parked wah, and treble that stays articulate rather than glassy. It’s equally happy as a neck or bridge pickup when you don’t need maximum output — try it opposite something hotter, like a Norton or X2N, for a well-matched two-humbucker rig.
Anchoring the bridge is the F-spaced Tone Zone (DP155FBK), a high-output Alnico 5 pickup with patented dual-resonance coils that pull surprising overtone detail out of a genuinely fat tone. Dynamics respond to your pick attack — dig in for size, back off for clarity — and low-mid reinforcement makes chords feel massive without turning single notes to mush. Splitting the coils gets you a convincing single-coil voice, and it pairs especially well with an Air Norton, PAF Joe, or the included PAF Pro.
Both pickups use 4-conductor wiring for flexible switching options and arrive in black covers. A set of Ernie Ball EB2221 Regular Slinky strings is included so you can string up and start dialing in tone immediately.
