Description
This DiMarzio set pairs two pickups built for very different jobs but designed to work together. The PAF Pro (DP151BK) in the neck delivers an open, PAF-style voice with a transparency that keeps it from getting swallowed by heavy processing — a real advantage if your rig includes drive pedals, rack gear, or high-gain amps. Lows have snap and chunk, mids carry a subtle vowel-like push, and the top end stays articulate without turning harsh. It’s a genuinely flexible pickup: strong on its own in the neck, and equally capable in the bridge when you don’t need maximum output.
Down at the bridge, the Tone Zone (DP155FBK), F-spaced for trem-equipped guitars, brings serious output without sacrificing dynamic range. Dig in and it roars; back off and it cleans up nicely. Patented dual-resonance coils give it an unusually rich overtone content for a pickup this hot, so chords stay full and single notes keep their depth instead of collapsing into mush. Split it for a solid single-coil alternative when you want a change of texture.
Both pickups wear black covers and use 4-conductor wiring for coil-splitting or phase options, and the set ships with a set of Ernie Ball EB2223 Super Slinky strings.
