Description
This DiMarzio set pairs two pickups designed to solve opposite problems: too little cut and too much shriek. The PAF Pro (DP151CR) was built during the rise of high-gain rigs and rack processing, when players needed a pickup transparent enough to survive a chain of effects rather than dissolve into it. It keeps low strings tight and articulate, adds a mid-range push that gives notes a subtle vowel-like growl, and rolls off just enough treble harshness to stay musical under gain. It’s flexible enough to work in any position, but it particularly shines in the neck slot or as a bridge pickup when you don’t need maximum output.
The Tone Zone (DP155CR) handles bridge duty here, and it exists specifically to fix the thin, buzzy
