Description
This bundle pairs two of DiMarzio’s most flexible humbuckers with a set of strings to get you playing right out of the box. The DP193BK Air Norton handles neck duties with a deep, warm voice that never turns to mud — its patented Air Norton magnetic structure cuts string-pull for longer sustain and lets pick attack come through with real dynamic control. Expect surprising harmonic complexity for a neck humbucker, along with enough output to stay balanced against hot bridge pickups. It shines with 500K pots if you want to push treble and harmonic detail even further.
In the bridge, the DP160FBK Norton (F-spaced for trem-equipped guitars) splits the difference between FRED and The Tone Zone, borrowing FRED’s biting harmonic character and Tone Zone’s midrange muscle. It uses the same dual-resonance design found in both of those pickups to deliver a sound that’s noticeably hotter and bigger than a vintage-output humbucker, without tipping into full distortion-class territory — arguably DiMarzio’s most versatile bridge option, equally happy with blues-rock leads or high-gain riffing.
Both pickups are finished in black and wired 4-conductor for coil-splitting and series/parallel flexibility. Rounding out the set, the included Ernie Ball EB2221 Regular Slinky strings give you a clean slate to dial in your new tone.
