Description
This white-covered set puts two of DiMarzio’s most versatile humbuckers together: the DP193FW Air Norton in the neck and the DP155FW Tone Zone in the bridge, both F-spaced for trem-routed guitars with narrower string spacing. Grab a set of Ernie Ball EB2220 Power Slinky strings included alongside them and you’ve got a pickup swap and restring sorted in one go.
The Air Norton was built as an Airbucker take on DiMarzio’s Norton design, and while it was originally aimed at high-gain bridge duty, it turned out to shine even brighter in the neck. Expect deep, warm output that never turns to mush, plus surprising harmonic content for a neck humbucker — the patented Air Norton magnetic structure cuts string pull so sustain and dynamic response both improve. It plays especially well with 500K pots for extra treble sparkle, and pairs naturally with hotter bridge pickups.
Up front, the Tone Zone earns its reputation as a high-output pickup with real range: dig in and it roars, back off and it cleans up nicely. Big bass and low-mid presence give it size without turning boomy, and its patented dual-resonance coils keep single notes articulate even as chords fill out huge. Split it for a convincing single-coil voice when you want to dial things back.
Together, this is a classic power/warmth combo suited to solid body and semi-hollow guitars alike, giving you a smooth, expressive neck tone and a bridge pickup with the muscle to cut through a mix.
