PAF worship done right: the DiMarzio PAF Master set takes the qualities players chase in a good vintage humbucker — low noise, top-end sparkle, dynamic response — and dials them in with more consistency than a 60-year-old pickup can offer.
The DP260 Neck Model is the sweet one. Alnico 5 keeps things bright without going thin, and the winding was kept restrained on purpose so the pickup stays articulate under gain instead of turning to mush. You get a throaty, rich midrange with clear note separation and highs that stay smooth and creamy rather than icy.
The DP261 Bridge Model brings the attitude. Alnico 4 and a hotter output give it real snarl — dig in and it turns thick and rockin’, but it still tracks chords and multi-note playing cleanly instead of collapsing into mud. This is the bridge pickup for players who want vintage character with backbone.
