The SJB-2 takes the classic Jazz Bass single-coil formula and turns up the heat. Built on the same design principles as Seymour Duncan’s Vintage-style pickups, this set uses more aggressive coil winding to push output higher and thicken up the midrange. The result is a punchier, more assertive voice that suits pop, blues, classic rock, and heavier rock styles where you need the pickup to cut through rather than sit politely in the mix.

This is a calibrated neck/bridge set, not two identical pickups — the neck unit is slightly narrower than the bridge, matching the physical layout of a Jazz Bass. Wiring is RW/RP (reverse wound/reverse polarity), so when both pickups are blended you get natural hum cancellation instead of noise. Players chasing even more tonal shaping often pair this set with an STC-2 or STC-3 Tone Circuit for active EQ control on board.
