This bundle pairs Seymour Duncan’s two vintage-voiced PJ pickups with a set of Ernie Ball Super Slinky bass strings, giving you a complete tonal refresh in one box.
- SPB-1 (P-Bass split-coil): Built to the spec of Leo Fender’s original 1957 dual-coil design, right down to the hand-fabricated forbon bobbins, plain enamel magnet wire, and hand-ground, sand-cast Alnico magnets. The result is that classic “warm ‘n woody” P-Bass thump — equally at home in country, blues, pop, or classic rock. Ships with waxed cloth hookup cable and non-logo covers.
- SJB-1B (J-Bass single-coil): A true vintage-correct single coil for the bridge position, using hand-ground Alnico 5 magnets and moderate winds to keep the low end full without burying the attack. Same waxed cloth cable and non-logo cover treatment as the SPB-1, so the pair looks and feels period-correct together.
Together, the SPB-1 and SJB-1B give you the split-coil growl and single-coil snarl that defined the original PJ configuration — and they respond especially well if you’re also running an STC-2 or STC-3 tone circuit for extra shaping.
Rounding out the set are Ernie Ball 2834 Super Slinky Bass strings (.045, .065, .080, .100), made from fresh raw materials in Southern California’s Coachella Valley and wound for a bright, balanced response that plenty of touring and recording bassists rely on.
