Description
Billy Gibbons chased the sound of a particular ’59 Les Paul Standard for years before Seymour Duncan finally nailed it, and the Pearly Gates is the result. It’s built on classic vintage humbucker DNA but pushed just a touch hotter, so you get that same sweetness with a little extra grit riding underneath. Sustain runs long, the top end stays articulate rather than harsh, and pick harmonics practically leap off the strings without any extra effort on your part.
- SH-PG1N (neck) and SH-PG1B (bridge) in reverse zebra cosmetics
- Four-conductor wiring on both pickups for coil-splitting and phase flexibility
- Voiced for blues, classic rock, southern rock, jam, and hard rock tones
Because the Pearly Gates leans warm rather than scooped, it’s a natural match for guitars that already run bright — think maple boards, ebony fretboards, or hollow and semi-hollow bodies that could use a bit of extra bite up top. Plenty of players run this set neck and bridge for a cohesive voice across the whole instrument, but it holds up just fine as a single pickup swap too.
This bundle also includes a free set of Ernie Ball 2223 Super Slinky strings (.009-.042), the same gauge favored by Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, and Angus Young. Nickel-plated wound strings over a hex steel core, paired with tin-plated high-carbon steel plain strings, give you a balanced, road-tested tone to match your new pickups from the first chord.
