Description
Some Tele pickups whisper. This pair shouts. Seymour Duncan built the Quarter Pound series around fatter, quarter-inch pole pieces that generate a stronger magnetic field than standard Tele single-coils, then paired that with a custom coil wind to push output well into hot P-90 and humbucker territory — without losing the snap that makes a Telecaster a Telecaster.
The STL-3 bridge model wears a chrome-plated brass cover and true quarter-inch poles for maximum punch, ideal for cutting through a loud band or driving an amp into overdrive with authority. The STR-3 neck pickup is voiced to match it in tone and output, using slightly slimmer 3/16" poles so the neck position stays articulate instead of muddy — still plenty of midrange muscle when you dig in.
Together they’re a matched set built for players chasing classic rock snarl, jazz-rock fusion clarity, or the kind of aggressive lead tone that needs treble bite without thinning out. They work equally well on maple or rosewood boards and suit any well-balanced Tele-style build.
This bundle also throws in a set of Ernie Ball 2223 Super Slinky strings — the same gauge (.009-.042) favored by Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, and Angus Young. Nickel-plated steel wound strings over a hex steel core, paired with tin-plated high-carbon plain strings, deliver reliable tuning stability and a balanced tone right out of the pack.
