Description
Seymour Duncan designed the Parallel Axis Trembucker series specifically for guitars with vibrato bridges, where standard humbucker spacing doesn’t line up with the strings. This set pairs the PA-TB1N in the neck with the PA-TB2B in the bridge, and both are voiced to work together as a matched pair while still holding their own tonal identity.
The PA-TB1N leans into a modern, hi-fi voice — balanced and sweet with a bluesy edge and long sustain. It’s got more output and midrange presence than Seymour Duncan’s Blues Saraceno model, and it responds well to added gain, opening up and singing the harder you push it. That versatility makes it equally at home in country, blues, funk, jazz, classic rock, and heavier styles. The neck unit is tonally compensated for balance against its bridge partner, and both pickups come with four-conductor hookup cable for full coil-splitting flexibility.
In the bridge, the PA-TB2B brings the muscle. A ceramic bar magnet and over-wound coils deliver a huge, high-output tone with articulate top-end clarity and a grinding low-end — built for old-school metal, nu-metal, thrash, punk, and gothic rock. Players like Oz Fox and Michael Sweet of Stryper, and Kenny Hickey of Type O Negative, have leaned on this pickup’s aggressive character.
Both pickups work especially well with rosewood fingerboards and are recommended for guitars equipped with a vibrato bridge.
