Description
This is the Vintage Tele voice with the wick turned up. Seymour Duncan’s STR-2 (neck) and STL-2 (bridge) are hot true single-coils that take the twangy character players love about Telecasters and layer in more output, more low-end punch, and a fuller midrange without losing that muscular snap that makes a Tele sound like a Tele.
Custom-length flat pole pieces and a sensitive coil design add extra sustain, so notes bloom rather than fall flat. The bridge pickup (STL-2) carries a similarly wound high-output coil for a full, clear voice, and it’s dressed in a chrome-plated brass cover for that classic black-and-chrome Tele look.
Built for country, rockabilly, blues, jam bands, classic rock, and anything else that needs twang with backbone. Since it’s a matched neck/bridge pair, you get consistent output and tonal balance switching between positions instead of fighting a mismatched set.
- STR-2: neck/rhythm position
- STL-2: bridge/lead position, black cover
- Works well with both maple and rosewood fingerboards
- Suited to well-balanced, versatile instruments
- Lead (STL-2) also available in a tapped version for dual output levels
- Includes a free set of Elixir light guitar strings
Drop this set into your Telecaster and you’re getting Vintage-style character with real headroom to push harder — plus new strings to break in while you’re at it.
