Description
This is the exact pickup pairing Dimebag Darrell built his tone around: a scooped, saturated bridge humbucker matched with a smoother, vintage-flavored neck pickup that lets solos cut through without turning harsh. Together they capture that unmistakable Pantera blend of low-end weight and biting top-end aggression.
- Dimebucker (bridge): Dime’s own design, voiced for a thick, crunchy pick attack with scooped mids and a distortion character that saturates and “sags” under heavy playing without collapsing into fuzz. Built with a ceramic bar magnet and dual stainless steel blades for tight, punchy low end and enough gain on tap to push your amp hard while staying controlled.
- ’59 Bridge (neck position): Dimebag’s preferred neck pickup, chosen for its warm, smooth vintage-inspired output that balances the aggression of the Dimebucker and adds extra clarity and teeth to lead lines.
Both pickups are hand-built in Santa Barbara, CA, and vacuum wax potted to eliminate microphonic squeal at high gain. The Dimebucker uses 4-conductor lead wire for flexible wiring options, while the ’59 Bridge stays true to vintage construction right down to its cloth-braided hookup wires.
This set ships in black and includes a free pack of Ernie Ball EB2220 Power Slinky strings, so you can drop the new pickups in and get playing without a trip to the store.
