Description
This is the exact recipe Dimebag Darrell relied on for that unmistakable Pantera roar: a scooped, saturated bridge tone with just enough sag when you dig in, balanced by a warmer, toothier neck pickup for solos that cut without shredding your ears off.
The bridge Dimebucker is built around a ceramic bar magnet paired with dual stainless steel blades, giving you a tight, punchy low end and a crunchy pick attack with scooped mids. It’s voiced to sit right on the edge of breakup — plenty of gain and saturation, but it never devolves into fuzzy mush. Dime himself described it as smooth crunch with low end that kicks and top end that cuts, and that’s precisely what you get.
In the neck, Dime opted for a 59 Bridge model rather than a dedicated neck pickup, using its warm, vintage-inspired voice to add extra bite to leads and keep the overall balance musical rather than muddy. It’s built right down to cloth braid hookup wire for that old-school feel.
Both pickups in this set are:
- Hand built in Santa Barbara, CA
- Vacuum wax potted for squeal-free performance at high gain
- Wired with 4-conductor leads for flexible switching options
This Zebra-finish set includes a free pack of Elixir Super Light guitar strings, so you can get your rig fully dialed in for Dimebag-style tone right out of the box.
