Description
This is the textbook Seymour Duncan combo for players who want one pickup that sings with vintage warmth and another that shoves back when you dig in. The SH-1n ’59 Model sits in the neck, built to Seth Lover’s original “Patent Applied For” spec — alnico magnets, plain enamel wire, nickel-plated studs, a wooden spacer, and black paper tape holding it all together. Expect smooth, rounded highs, a woody midrange, and enough low-end body to keep chords sounding full without going muddy.
In the bridge, the SH-5 Duncan Custom takes that same PAF DNA and adds muscle. A ceramic magnet and custom coil winding push the output up, tighten the dynamics, and add a forward midrange bark that cuts through a dense mix — the kind of pickup that was practically built for classic rock, hard rock, funk, punk, and metal, including dropped tunings that would turn a weaker bridge pickup to mush. Pair it with rosewood fingerboards and it gets even more balanced.
Both pickups are 4-conductor, so you’ve got full freedom for coil-splitting, series/parallel switching, or phase tricks if your wiring supports it. Gold covers keep the look classy, and each pickup ships with its own wiring diagram and mounting screws.
