Description
This is the pairing Seymour Duncan himself reaches for when a guitar needs both clarity and grit: the SH-2N Jazz in the neck and the SH-5 Duncan Custom in the bridge, both finished in black and both wired with four-conductor cable so you’ve got full coil-splitting and phase flexibility down the line.
- SH-2N Jazz (Neck): Despite the name, this isn’t just a jazz box pickup — it’s the same neck humbucker Randy Rhoads leaned on. Moderate output, articulate top end, and smooth sustain make it a natural for fast lead runs and cutting through a mix without piling on gain. It sits slightly lower in output and a touch brighter/more detailed on top than an SH-1 ’59, so it plays nicely with hotter bridge pickups instead of competing with them.
- SH-5 Duncan Custom (Bridge): A ceramic-magnet PAF pushed harder — punchy, midrange-forward, and built for classic rock through metal, funk, punk, and dropped tunings. The custom coil design tightens up the bass and compresses dynamics just enough to keep low tunings from turning to mush, while still cutting through with real high-end bite. It’s especially at home on warmer, balanced instruments and rosewood boards.
Together they give you two distinct personalities in one guitar: vintage-leaning clarity up top, hard-driving punch down low. This bundle also includes a set of Elixir Super Light guitar strings at no extra cost, so you can string up and dial in your new pickups right away.
