Tom Anderson built the H series to solve a problem most humbuckers never quite fix – dropouts on the low and high strings caused by poorly spaced pole pieces. By using larger pole pieces and reworked string spacing, these pickups deliver a genuinely uniform magnetic field across all six strings, so nothing gets lost when you dig in. The payoff is an overdrive tone that stays smooth and articulate at the top end instead of turning fuzzy or harsh, with a full, open voice that holds up whether you’re playing clean or pushing a hot amp.
Every pickup in this set ships with 4-conductor shielded cable, giving you full freedom for coil-splitting, series/parallel switching, or whatever wiring scheme your build calls for. These are widely considered some of the best splitting humbuckers around, so if versatility matters as much as tone, this set covers both.
- H3 (bridge): Fuller, thicker, and hotter than the H2+, this is the pickup where legato really comes alive – your picking hand feels effortless while the tone stays well beyond just midrange. Measures 2-3/4″ long, 1-3/8″ wide, 3/4″ deep, with pole spacing just under 2-1/8″ (53mm) low-E to high-E.
- H1+ (neck): A slightly hotter, thicker take on the H1. Clear and open enough to hold its own in the bridge, or drop it in the neck for extra body and warmth.
