Van Zandt spent decades rewinding pickups by hand out of Texas before turning his reputation into a dedicated shop in the late 1980s, and that old-school ear for tone is baked into every set that leaves his bench. This bundle mixes two voicings so your Strat can cover more ground without a full pickup swap.
- Two Blues single coils (neck/bridge position, plus a reverse-wound version for the middle slot) that respond to touch — light picking stays sweet and airy, digging in brings out snap and grit. Full midrange, no loss of top end, and the tone shifts from mellow to bright depending on how you play it.
- Reverse winding on the middle pickup cuts hum in noisy rooms with fluorescent or neon lighting, and it also lets you coil-split in the 2nd and 4th switch positions for extra tonal options.
- One Rock single coil for neck or bridge, built with more top-end growl to push your amp into overdrive or feed a distortion pedal cleanly — suited to rock, alt-rock, and heavier styles.
- Mix and match: run Blues pickups in front and center for that classic voice, Rock in back for grit, and switch between the two on the fly.
