Description
The 57 handles bridge duty with a mix of Alnico V magnets and steel pole pieces that lean into that classic PAF vibe, but with the headroom and punch you only get from an active circuit. Chords stay defined even when you’re pushing gain, and single notes cut through without turning brittle.
Up at the neck, the 66 was built around player feedback rather than starting from an old blueprint. Alnico V magnets give it a smooth, warm midrange and low end that stays full instead of muddy, while ceramic pole pieces keep the top end articulate so lead lines don’t get lost in the mix.
Both pickups are voiced specifically for their position, so the 57/66 pair works as a cohesive set rather than two pickups that happen to be boxed together. They’re finished in EMG’s brushed steel covers in gold, giving the set a clean, modern look on the bench and on the guitar.
Because this is EMG’s solderless MetalWorks line, getting them installed doesn’t mean pulling out an iron. The kit includes:
- EMG Quik-Connect cable
- Prewired split-shaft volume/tone control set
- Output jack
- Battery clip set
- Screws and springs
Everything you need to swap out your stock electronics and have this set running is in the box, whether you’re doing a full active-pickup upgrade for the first time or just prefer wiring you can plug together rather than solder.
