Description
Jason Becker doesn’t just play fast, he plays with articulation at speed, and this Trembucker is voiced to keep every note distinct even when you’re tearing through legato runs or dive-bombing between phrases. An Alnico 5 bar magnet gives it that slightly aggressive, glassy edge Alnico is known for, while the hotter-than-vintage coil winding pushes output up to 12.11k DC resistance. That’s enough push for serious gain without smearing your picking dynamics into mush.
What makes it work across styles isn’t just the output number, it’s how it responds. Dig in for a metal riff and it snarls back with punch and clarity; back off the pick attack for a bluesy bend or fusion line and it cleans up nicely, tracking your touch instead of fighting it. That kind of dynamic range is exactly what separates a shred pickup from a genuinely versatile one.
Currently offered as a bridge-only model, so plan your neck pairing accordingly:
- Pair with a hot neck trembucker if you want a cohesive, high-output setup for modern, aggressive playing
- Pair with a lower-output neck pickup, or run it in a hum-sing-sing layout, if you want more tonal range and cleaner headroom on the neck side
Jason’s own guitar is an alder-body, maple-cap, maple-neck dual-humbucker instrument, but this Trembucker is a legitimate upgrade for any guitar with a bridge trembucker slot, not just a signature-model recreation. Finished in Zebra for that classic split-coil look.
