Description
The PAF Master set takes the vintage humbucker formula and dials it in with a little extra precision. Instead of just chasing the old PAF sound, DiMarzio built two distinct pickups that split the neck and bridge duties intelligently, giving each position exactly what it needs to shine.
The DP260BK neck pickup runs an Alnico 5 magnet with 4-conductor wiring, carefully wound to stay quiet, bright, and dynamic without piling on excess output. It’s voiced for that classic throaty PAF richness, but the winding is restrained enough to keep note definition intact — you get creamy top end and full-bodied lows that never turn to mush, plus plenty of sustain when you dig in.
On the bridge, the DP261BK swaps in an Alnico 4 magnet for a different flavor: more edge, more rock and roll snarl. It’s touch-sensitive and responds well to chords and multi-note playing, staying articulate even under a hard pick attack, then turning thick and aggressive when you push it. Together, the pair covers a huge tonal range while keeping that vintage PAF DNA at the core.

This set also includes a set of Ernie Ball EB2221 Regular Slinky strings, so once you’ve got the new pickups wired in, you’re ready to string up and get playing right away.
