The EMG-JV was built for players who love the look and growl of a traditional Jazz Bass* but won’t tolerate the hum and inconsistency that can come with it. EMG borrowed from old-school design, newer refinements, and their own late-model thinking to land on a pickup that keeps the offset pole pieces’ signature “faded” attack while running through one of the lowest-noise preamps EMG makes. The result reads as vintage on the surface but behaves like a precision instrument underneath — clear, quiet, and ready to be pushed hard without losing definition.
