The neck pickup runs Alnico 5 pole magnets while the bridge pickup uses Alnico 2, a mismatched pairing that gives this set a voice unlike any other J-style pickup on the market. That contrast between the two magnet types opens up a wide harmonic window, letting the set respond well to aggressive EQ shaping without losing character.
Despite being fully passive, the JV52-HZ stays dead quiet thanks to a side-by-side coil layout that cancels hum without any active circuitry or battery involved.
