Description
Fender’s Mexican-made Jazz Basses ditched the classic short/long pickup pairing in favor of two identically sized cavities, so a standard J-Bass pickup set won’t drop in cleanly. The EMG MJ Set solves that fit issue directly: it’s built on the same active circuitry and tonal foundation as EMG’s J Set, but both pickups are manufactured to matching dimensions to correspond with the MJ routing.
Expect the usual EMG active traits — low noise floor, punchy low-mid output, and a hot, consistent signal that stays tight whether you’re slapping, fingerstyle picking, or digging in with a pick. Because they’re active, output stays strong and even across the neck and bridge positions, without the volume drop-off you sometimes get from passive Jazz pickups when blended.
This is a Custom Shop set, so it ships ready to install rather than as bare pickups needing a separate wiring harness:
- Two EMG Quik-Connect cables for solderless hookup
- Prewired control set with 2 Volume controls

- Output jack
- Battery clip
- Adjustment screws
Cover caps are available in Black, White, or Ivory, so you can match or contrast your bass’s finish.
