Description
The EMG SA Set IV takes the spanky top-end you know from vintage single-coils and adds fuel to it. Each pickup uses one Alnico bar magnet to push out a hotter signal than a passive Strat pickup, with a boosted midrange that gives notes a bell-like ring and noticeably longer sustain. You still get that airy single-coil sparkle on top, but underneath there’s a smoother, more controlled overdrive character that passive coils can’t quite reach – which is exactly why players like Steve Lukather and David Gilmour built entire tones around this set.
Because it’s active, the SA Set stays quiet and consistent no matter how hard you push your amp, and it arrives ready to install as a complete, prewired system rather than a bare set of pickups.
