Description
Rewiring a Strat shouldn’t mean an afternoon of trial and error with a multimeter and a prayer. Emerson’s prewired harness hands you a fully assembled, pre-soldered control set built around three Emerson PRO CTS split-shaft potentiometers (250K Ohm, 3/8″ shaft), an Oak Grigsby 5-way switch, and a Switchcraft mono input jack — all wired and ready to mount into your pickguard.
Tone shaping comes courtesy of a 0.047uf Emerson paper-in-oil capacitor, the classic choice for 250K pot setups (swap to a 0.022uf version if you’re running 500K pots), plus a volume mod already built into the harness for smoother sweep and less tone loss at lower settings.
- Master Volume, Tone, Tone control layout
- 5-way switching: Bridge / Bridge+Middle parallel / Middle / Middle+Neck parallel / Neck
- Wiring diagram included for reference
Everything arrives prewired and tested, so installation is largely a matter of desoldering your old guard’s connections and dropping this one in. One thing worth knowing before you start: Emerson’s split-shaft pots are cut to USA-spec 24-spline dimensions. If your guitar (even a US-made one) came with import-spec knobs, they may not seat properly — grab USA-spec push-on knobs instead. And take it slow when pushing knobs on; if one’s fighting you, gently crimp the very top of the pot shaft rather than forcing it, or you risk damaging the shaft.
