Joe Barden built the HB Two/Tone for guitarists who want humbucker sustain without the murky low end and compressed top that so many humbuckers bring to the table. In its default mode, this neck pickup delivers the clarity, sensitivity, and output of the standard HB design — articulate enough for jazz chords, punchy enough for blues leads, and full enough for rock rhythm work.
What sets the Two/Tone apart is the second voice built into the same housing. Wire in a DPDT mini-switch or push/pull pot, and flipping it swaps the pickup’s tone and output over to that of an S-Deluxe single-coil. On a Hum/Single/Single or Hum/Single/Hum guitar, that means you can dial in a genuinely convincing
