Description
The 1457 Outsider is Barcus Berry’s loudest-output transducer, built for players who need reliable amplification without touching a screwdriver to their instrument. It’s a surface-mount piezo pickup that adheres directly to the top of a flat top or arch top guitar near the bridge, and it works equally well on a huge range of other wooden and acoustic instruments.
- Barcus Berry’s highest-output guitar pickup, engineered for demanding live, broadcast, and recording situations where feedback rejection matters as much as level
- Compatible with virtually any flat top or arch top guitar, plus a wide array of other instruments and resonant surfaces
- Fully tool-free installation—no alterations, drilling, or permanent changes to your instrument
- No preamp needed; the piezo transducer runs straight into your signal chain
In the box you’ll get the piezo transducer with its adhesive mounting strip pre-attached, an external-mount output jack with its own adhesive strip, six extra adhesive strips for the transducer, three more for the jack, and clear installation instructions.
Beyond guitar, the Outsider is equally at home on balalaika, berimbau, drums, guitarron, kalimba, koto, lute, sitar, steel drum, ukulele, zither, tap floors, and pretty much any wooden instrument you can stick it to. It’s earned a following among percussionists and dancers alike—Ndugu Chancler and Grammy-winning tap dancer Savion Glover both rely on it.
Comes with a 1-foot cable, ready to plug into your amp, mixer, or DI.
