Description
The SSH+ is Suhr’s answer for players who want humbucker muscle without losing edge. Where the double-screw DSH+ leans smooth, the SSH+ swaps in a single row of screws opposite a row of slugs, opening up the top end for a brighter, more assertive voice that still holds together under gain.
Built around hand-selected Alnico V magnets and wound to a 17k bridge output, this pickup is designed to work with your guitar’s wood rather than fight it — pulling out the character already in the instrument instead of masking it. That versatility is why Suhr pickups show up across such different rigs: Scott Henderson’s jazz-blues phrasing, Doug Aldrich and Reb Beach’s hard rock crunch, Guthrie Govan’s technical fusion, and Kirk Fletcher’s blues tone all run through the same design philosophy. Expect clear, warm cleans, authoritative classic rock crunch, articulate high-gain fusion runs, and enough sustain and bite for 80s shred or modern metal.
Suhr Guitars has been hand-building instruments and electronics since 1997 under JS Technologies, founded by John Suhr and Steve Smith. ProAudioLand was named Suhr’s 2015 Electronics dealer of the year, so you’re buying from a shop that knows this catalog inside and out.
