The SSV+ is Suhr’s answer to the question every PAF lover eventually asks: what if that classic vintage humbucker tone had a little more grit for cutting through a busy mix? Built by JS Technologies Inc. under John Suhr and Steve Smith, this bridge pickup takes the harmonic richness of a great old-school PAF and adds the extra push needed for everything from blues turnarounds to high-gain rock leads.
Wound with an Alnico V magnet and reading around 10 kOhm DC resistance at the bridge, the SSV+ delivers vintage-correct chime with enough output to stay articulate under drive. It’s equally at home laying down jazz chords, snarling through classic rock riffs, or keeping pace with fast fusion runs — genre-hopping tone that doesn’t sacrifice clarity.
This particular unit comes in a clean white cover with 50mm spacing, making it a direct fit for Gibson-style guitars. It ships with 4-conductor hook-up wire, so you’ve got full flexibility for coil-splitting, series/parallel switching, or standard wiring — whatever your setup calls for.
