Description
Van Zandt pickups come from a lineage that traces back to actual pre-CBS-era hands-on work, not a spec sheet. W.L. Van Zandt started rewinding magnets for fellow musicians around Dallas/Ft. Worth back in the early 1960s, working as a machinist by day and a honky-tonk guitarist by night. That word-of-mouth reputation eventually became Van Zandt Pickups in the late ’80s, and every unit is still wound by hand in Texas.
The Vintage Plus is the single coil to reach for when you want a Strat that sounds like a Strat — not a scooped, ice-picky imitation. It’s voiced for the bridge or neck position and delivers a well-rounded spread across the highs, mids, and lows, so chords stay chimey without turning brittle and single-note runs keep their body.
- Hand-wound to recall the tone of vintage 1960s Stratocasters
- Balanced output across highs, mids, and lows — no thin or harsh edge
- A go-to drop-in upgrade for American Standard Strats
- Equally at home in country twang, blues bends, and straight-ahead rock
Pro Audio Land is an authorized Van Zandt dealer, so every pickup we ship arrives new, straight from J.D.’s hands in Texas.
