Description
The Antiquity Texas Hot isn’t a reissue chasing spec sheets — it’s Seymour Duncan’s attempt to physically recreate what a decades-old Strat pickup actually sounds and looks like, right down to the aging on the cover. These aren’t injection-molded parts dyed to look old; each cover is individually aged by hand, and the coil beneath it is scatter-wound the traditional way rather than machine-perfect.
Under the hood you get calibrated, staggered magnets set above the flatwork and “top going” winding with north polarity, mirroring how the earliest vintage units were built. That construction approach, paired with a 6.3K DC resistance, 2.87 henries of inductance, and a Q of 2.39, gives you that woody, slightly compressed vintage Strat voice — present without being harsh, glassy without being brittle.
Need it for the middle slot? Grab the RW/RP (reverse wound/reverse polarity) version so it cancels hum against your neck or bridge pickup in positions 2 and 4, without altering the tonal character.
Each pickup ships ready to wire in, complete with mounting screws, a wiring schematic, and authentic push-back cloth braid hookup wire for that period-correct build.
