Description
Designed alongside progressive metal guitarist Jake Bowen for his Ibanez signature model, the Titan Neck pickup was built to solve a specific problem: how do you run walls of delay, reverb, and chorus without turning your tone into mush? Bowen’s answer was a neck humbucker that keeps its shape no matter how many effects get piled on top.
Tonally, the Titan Neck leans punchy and full-bodied rather than dark or woolly, which is exactly why it works so well as a lead and clean-tone pickup. Bowen switches to it whenever he needs rounder note definition and extra attack for solos, and it’s his go-to for ambient, effects-drenched clean passages too. The pickup’s balance across the low, mid, and high end means smooth overdriven leads come through with clarity instead of collapsing into noise – you keep the character of your guitar even when the pedalboard is doing a lot of work.
This nickel-covered version pairs the Titan’s ceramic magnet output with a classic look that suits vintage-leaning builds as well as modern rigs.
