Description
EMG built the MetalWorks 57/66 set to cover both ends of the neck without asking you to compromise on either. The 57 lives in the bridge, pairing Alnico V magnets with steel pole pieces to conjure that vintage PAF-adjacent voice — but with the headroom, punch, and note separation that only an active circuit can deliver. It stays articulate under gain instead of collapsing into mush.
The 66 takes the neck position and flips the recipe slightly: Alnico V still handles the warm midrange and full low end, but ceramic pole pieces push extra clarity into the upper register so lead lines and chords don’t get lost in the low-mid fog that neck humbuckers are famous for.
Both pickups wear EMG’s brushed steel covers, giving the set a clean, modern look that reads more industrial than vintage — a nice visual match for the aggressive tone on tap.
- 57 (bridge): Alnico V magnets + steel poles, active circuit, PAF-inspired voice with extra punch
- 66 (neck): Alnico V magnets + ceramic poles, warm lows with clearer top end
- Brushed steel covers, black finish
- Solderless installation via EMG’s Quik-Connect system
In the box: EMG Quik-Connect cables, prewired split-shaft volume/tone control set, output jack, battery clip set, screws, and springs — everything needed for a drop-in install.
