Description

EMG built this 57/66 set to bridge vintage humbucker character with the headroom and clarity that only active electronics can deliver. The 57 handles bridge duty with Alnico V magnets and steel pole pieces, chasing that classic PAF warmth while EMG’s active circuitry keeps the attack tight and the definition sharp – no mud, no compression under gain.

Up at the neck, the 66 takes a different approach to get there. Alnico V still supplies the smooth midrange and full low end, but ceramic pole pieces open up the top end, so single-note runs and chords stay articulate instead of turning to mush. Together, the pair is voiced specifically for their bridge/neck roles rather than being a one-size-fits-all pickup used twice.

This set ships with long shaft pots and a brushed chrome finish, fitting cleanly into instruments that need extra room under the knobs. Like all EMG active pickups, installation is solderless – the whole set connects with quick-connect wiring, so swapping out your passive pickups doesn’t require a soldering iron or a trip to a tech.

  • 57 bridge humbucker: Alnico V magnets, steel pole pieces, active circuitry
  • 66 neck humbucker: Alnico V magnets, ceramic pole pieces, active circuitry
  • Long shaft pots included
  • Brushed chrome cosmetic finish
  • Solderless installation

A solid pick for players who want PAF-flavored tone with the punch and low noise floor of an active set.
