Description
Malmsteen doesn’t do anything halfway, and neither does this pickup. The STK-S10 YJM Fury is Seymour Duncan’s answer to a very specific problem: how do you get a hum-free single-coil to keep up with a player who alternates between liquid-smooth legato runs and aggressive, dynamic pick attack? The answer lives in the stacked coil design, built on Duncan’s original Stack pickup platform, which cancels 60-cycle hum while preserving the airy top-end and quick response that Strat players chase.
In the neck position, the YJM Fury leans sweet rather than dark. It tracks fast fingerwork cleanly, blooms nicely under gain, and still reveals pick dynamics instead of flattening them out — a big reason it works so well across rock, neo-classical, shred, hard rock, power metal, and heavy metal territory.
Because it’s stack-wound to standard single-coil dimensions, the YJM Fury drops straight into most bolt-on, single-coil-loaded guitars — no routing, no rewiring headaches. Duncan originally spec’d it for Yngwie’s scalloped maple-board Strat, and it’s the exact pickup Fender fits into their own YJM Signature Stratocasters, so you’re getting the real deal, not an approximation.
