Description
The Zephyr Silver started as a dare: give VP of Engineering Kevin Beller free rein to build a humbucker with zero compromise on cost or materials. No budget ceiling, no shortcuts, just the best components he could find. What came out the other side is a bridge pickup that doesn’t just sound “better” in some vague sense — it sounds like your guitar finally has room to breathe, with more air up top, deeper and tighter low end, thicker mids, and a touch response that tracks every nuance of your playing.
The secret is in the build. Silver wire replaces the usual copper because silver simply carries signal more efficiently — its resistance per unit length is 5.36% lower than copper’s. That doesn’t mean scooped or hyped frequencies; it means the highs and lows that were always in your tone actually make it out cleanly. Silver’s softer than copper too, which lets the coil wind up neat and even, adding a subtle boost to pick and finger-style immediacy.
Pole pieces are bi-metallic: 440C stainless steel wrapped around a pure nickel core, pairing the stainless’s high saturation and extended dynamic range with the nickel’s quicker response to subtle playing dynamics. The bobbins are glass fiberfill nylon rather than plastic, cutting down on microphonics while staying physically stable under string tension and temperature swings. Every Zephyr pickup also goes through cryogenic treatment, a process shown to pull extra detail out of audio gear.
- DCR: 8.1

This is a bridge humbucker built for players who hear the difference between good and best — and are ready to invest in it.
