This set pairs two of DiMarzio’s most versatile humbuckers for players who want vintage character without sacrificing punch. The PAF Pro (DP151BK) in the neck position delivers an open, transparent PAF-style voice that cuts through dense effects chains instead of disappearing into them. Expect snappy low end, a subtle mid-range “aw” vocal quality reminiscent of a parked wah, and highs that stay articulate without turning brittle u2014 equally at home as a laid-back neck tone or a moderate-output bridge pickup.
Anchoring the bridge is the Tone Zone (DP155FBK) in an F-spaced configuration to keep string alignment correct on trem-equipped or pole-piece-sensitive setups. It’s a genuinely high-output pickup, but its dynamic range means hard picking unleashes real power while lighter touches stay clean and controlled. Patented dual-resonance coils pull extra overtones out of an otherwise fat, low-mid-heavy tone, and split-coil wiring opens up a convincing single-coil voice when you want it.
Both pickups arrive in black, wired 4-conductor for full coil-splitting and phase flexibility, and built around Alnico 5 magnets. Included with the set is a free pack of Elixir Custom Light guitar strings.
