It’s warm and deep without turning to mud, and it throws off harmonic detail that’s genuinely rare for a neck humbucker — try it into 500K pots if you want maximum treble bite and shimmer.
Down at the bridge, the DP160FBK Norton (F-spaced for guitars with trembucker-routed cavities) sits tonally between FRED and The Tone Zone: some of FRED’s snarling harmonic edge, backed by Tone Zone-style midrange muscle. It’s hotter and bigger-sounding than a vintage-output pickup but stops short of full distortion-class output, which is exactly why DiMarzio calls it one of their most versatile bridge options. Both pickups are 4-conductor for full coil-splitting flexibility and built around Alnico 5 magnets.
