Description
This DiMarzio set pairs two of the company’s most versatile Alnico 5 humbuckers, finished in classic black and creme bobbins, and throws in a set of Elixir Super Light strings so you’re ready to plug in and play the moment installation’s done.
- DP193BC Air Norton (neck): Originally conceived as an Airbucker take on the Norton, this one surprised everyone by becoming a killer neck pickup instead. Expect a deep, warm voice that never turns to mud, plus generous output and unexpected harmonic complexity for a neck humbucker. The patented Air Norton magnetic structure cuts string pull, so sustain and dynamic response both improve noticeably.
- DP155BC Tone Zone (bridge): Built for players who want power without losing touch sensitivity, the Tone Zone rewards hard picking with serious push while staying clean and quiet under a lighter touch. Strong bass and low-mid content give chords real size, and the patented dual-resonance coils keep single notes from sounding one-dimensional. It also splits cleanly to a convincing single-coil voice.
Together they suit solid body and semi-hollow guitars especially well, delivering a balanced high-output pairing with plenty of tonal range between clean and driven amp settings. Try 500K pots on the Air Norton for extra treble sparkle, or 250K (or a mixed 500K/250K) setup on the Tone Zone to round off the top end.
