Description
This set pairs two of DiMarzio’s most versatile humbuckers, both F-spaced for guitars with trem routing or wider string spacing at the bridge, and both finished in matching white to keep your pickguard looking clean.
The DP193FW Air Norton in the neck was originally meant to be a high-gain bridge pickup, but it turned out to shine even brighter up front. Its patented Air Norton magnetic structure cuts down on string pull, which means longer sustain and pickier control over dynamics — dig in and it responds, back off and it cleans up. The tone is deep and warm without turning to mud, and it carries harmonic content that’s genuinely rare for a neck humbucker. Alnico 5 magnet, 4-conductor wiring, 270mV output, 12.58 Kohm DC resistance. Try it through 500K pots if you want extra treble bite and harmonic sparkle.
The DP155FW Tone Zone anchors the bridge with serious low-end authority and a wider dynamic window than most high-output pickups offer — dig in for size and power, ease off for a cleaner, quieter response. Its dual-resonance coil design pulls out more overtones than you’d expect from a pickup this fat-sounding, so single notes keep their depth and chords stay huge rather than smeared. Alnico 5 magnet, 4-conductor wiring, 375mV output, 17.31 Kohm DC resistance. Also splits cleanly to a convincing single-coil voice if your wiring supports coil-splitting.
Suited to solid body and semi-hollow guitars, this Air Norton/Tone Zone combo lands squarely in medium-to-high output territory with room to clean up when you back off the pick attack.
