Description
The Quarter Pound name isn’t marketing fluff — these Jazzmaster pickups use hand-polished, 1/4″ diameter Alnico V pole pieces to grab more string signal than a standard-width magnet ever could. Paired with a custom coil wind, the SJM-3N (neck) and SJM-3B (bridge) push out serious output while staying true single-coil in character: articulate, bright, and full-frequency, just with a harder edge and more shove than the Vintage (SJM-1) or Hot (SJM-2) versions.
- SJM-3N neck pickup is reverse wound/reverse polarity, so running both pickups together cancels hum instead of stacking it
- Hand-polished quarter-inch Alnico V magnets for punch, sustain, and extended lead-work drive
- True single-coil design — no cover included, so the big poles stay on display
- Wiring diagram and mounting hardware included for a straightforward install
This set rewards players chasing blues grit, classic and heavy rock crunch, garage snarl, or even classic and nu-metal aggression — anywhere you want a Jazzmaster to hit harder without losing its single-coil snap. It’s equally happy under maple or rosewood fingerboards on any well-balanced instrument, and it’s the setup Tim Pagnotta of Sugarcult reaches for.
Grab this bundle and a free set of 2221 strings comes along for the ride, so you can restring the moment your new pickups are wired in.
