Description
If you’ve chased that snarling, singing tone from a certain ’59 Les Paul that basically invented Texas blues-rock, the Pearly Gates is the pickup that started that whole conversation. Seymour Duncan built it as a faithful recreation of the pickups in that iconic guitar, and it still nails the brief: warm and vintage-flavored but pushed just a touch hotter, with a bright, articulate top end that lets harmonics leap out on command. There’s a sweetness to the voice, but it’s got attitude too — sustain for days and just enough grit to keep things honest.
- Set includes SH-PG1N (neck) and SH-PG1B (bridge)
- Nickel covers
- Four-conductor hookup cable on each pickup for flexible wiring options
- Well suited to blues, classic rock, southern rock, jam bands, and hard rock
This set shines brightest on brighter-toned guitars — think maple and ebony fingerboards — and it also comes alive in hollow and semi-hollow bodies, adding punch without losing the acoustic character those guitars are known for. Drop it in the neck, the bridge, or both; it’s a pairing built to work together.
This bundle throws in a free set of Ernie Ball 2223 Super Slinky strings, the same gauge choice favored by Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, and Angus Young. Nickel-plated steel windings over a hex steel core, tin-plated high-carbon steel plain strings, gauges .009–.042 — precision-made for consistent feel and long life.
