There’s a reason those skinny chrome lipstick tubes from the ’50s never went out of style — that unmistakable jangle is baked right into the design. Seymour Duncan’s SLS set recreates it faithfully, built around Alnico 6 magnets and a winding spec tuned specifically to bring out the bright, chiming character these pickups are famous for.
This is a complete, calibrated three-pickup set: the SLS-1 bridge is wound a bit hotter for extra push, the middle pickup is reverse-wound/reverse-polarity (RW/RP) to cancel hum in positions 2 and 4, and the SLS-1B neck pickup rounds things out with that classic warm-but-glassy top end. Drop the whole set into a Strat and you’ve got a cohesive, position-to-position balance instead of three pickups fighting each other.
Tonally, expect sparkle and air rather than thickness — these are built for players chasing country twang, surfy tremolo tones, rockabilly snap, blues bite, and clean classic rock chime.
